Wiki Page Operations
How to Create a New Page?
Now let’s get started on how to use your wiki. Zoho Wiki allows you to add pages to your heart’s content. There are no limitations on the number of pages you can create in a Wiki.
Create or add a new page to your wiki in just three steps !
- Click on the New page button in the Dashboard page of your Wiki. You can also use the Create new page button above the navigation panel.
- Enter the name of the new page in the pop-up.
- Now click the Create button.
Your new page is ready...
Note: If you are visiting somebody else’s wiki and don’t have edit access, this button will not be visible.

Use the friendly WYSIWYG editor to enter in your content.This friendly tool bar is all you need to create a power-packed wiki that’s reflective of your creativity.

So why don’t you get started with your very own wiki? Remember to periodically hit the Save button to save your latest page edits. (we are working on auto-save & it should be available soon)
How to Edit a Page?
In case you wish to change the page title, double click on the same and you will be able to edit it. Similarly, if you’d like to edit the contents of your page, there are two ways to do that:
- Click on the Edit button above each page to open up the editor.
- Switch on Constrained Editor: This is useful for quick fixes to the text only as it allows you to edit each paragraph individually. To use this feature, move your mouse over a page. You will find that paragraphs appear selected. Just double click on the paragraph that you wish to edit and a basic editor opens up with the text of the respective paragraph within.
[Note: Constrained Editor should be turned on in the Settings for this to work]
How to Create a Sub-page?
A sub-page is a page that is hierarchially one level below another page. You can create a sub-page to any page by clicking on the Add sub-page link that is present below the Navigate pages section. Sub-pages help you create a well-structured Wiki. Click on the Sitemap link to see the hierarchial ordering of pages.
Other Page Functions
Zoho Wiki aims to simplify the wiki creation and maintenance process. In line with that objective, here are some more tips:
- Page versioning: Zoho Wiki saves every change that you make to a wiki page and stores them as versions. You can go back and forth to view early or later versions of the page by clicking on Show version button above the wiki page. In case you wish to retain an older version, all you have to do is indicate the same using dropdown menu and click on Revert back.
- Search:
Zoho Wiki is searchable. You can search for specific words, phrases or
for wiki pages (if you know their names) by entering them in the Quick
Search text box in the navigation panel.
- Page
Renaming: Just double click on the page title to edit the same. The
text is now editable. Enter the new name and click on Rename or else
click on Cancel.
(A word of caution: Page renaming may result in broken
links.)
- Indexing: For easier viewing, all the pages in a wiki are indexed in alphabetical order. Click on Wiki Index link (near by Site Map at the bottom of the page) to view all your pages.
I can't find an indexing link next to the site map. Does this functionality still exist?
Hi,
Sorry that it is moved to footer. You can find the Wiki Index link near Site Map at bottom of the page.

Mano
Is there a way to automatically create an on page index of content with links to content lower in the page? Example:
A faq which lists all the questions at the top of the page, clicking on the question links you to the answer lower on the page.
Hi,
Hope you are asking about TOC(Table of Contents).
Just create Heading 1, 2, 3 in the page and click the TOC icon on the toolbar before smiley icon.
It will generate automatic TOC for your page. Next time, if you are adding new heading it will update TOC automatically.
Hope this helps you. Do get back to us for further clarifications.

Mano
Is there a way you can copy an existing page? Instead of creating from scratch? Duplicating will not help because it will not let you change the page title. If we have an exisiting page, can we change the title?
Also, is there a way to add extra WYSIWYG features?
Thanks!
@pdivvela
As of now, we dont have template or save as feature. We will add this in our feature list and do the same in future. Till then bean with us.

@Julia:
Just enter your wiki name (like juliawiki) in the given text field, only alphanumerics (A-Z,a-z,0-9)and _ (underscore) are allowed in the wiki name.
when i see different versions of the wiki, is there a way to see the changes made in different colors?
i cant really see the revisions, it just shows the old version. in other wiki software I've used you can see the changes in different colors. Is there a way to do this
@jeffhull,
You can able to see the green color background for added contents and yellow color background for changed contents. Please let us know is there any issues in this.
Steps: Page Menu -> Show Versions -> Compare Versions -> Compare.

Mano
